Frequently asked questions

How do I order?

Simply search through our extensive range of fancy dress costumes and accessories by browsing through the catagories on the left hand side of the page, or by using the search function located on the top bar. By keeping your search terms as simple as possible i.e "Wolverine" instead of "Wolverine from X-Men" will produce more accurate results. Once you have found your purchases simply select "add to basket" and/or tick the "also add item to basket" boxes on the optional accessories located on the right hand side of a product listing if applicable. Quantities can be ammended in the basket. When you have finished shopping go to "My Basket" located on the top tabs and select "Proceed to checkout" this will take you through our secure payment and registration system, from here simply follow the on-screen prompts.

Why is my item different to the image on the site?

POW makes every effort to ensure that the images we supply are as accurate as possible. We are aware that different screen resolutions, browsers and computer types may vary the colours depicted. We use the latest images & content available to us supplied by the manufacturers, however they reserve the right to amend products without notice.

How do I wash my costume?

Here at POW we recommend that all costumes are dry clean only. Fancy dress costumes are not designed for everyday wear, and therefore should not be treated as such. Some manufacturers costume packaging suggests a cool wash cycle however POW will not be able to remedy any costume fault that occurs during washing as we recommend dry clean only.

How can I cancel an order?

Yes, if an order has not been dispatched  and you contact us via FREEPHONE 0800 232 1148 we can cancel your order with no charge and a full refund will be actioned. However if the order has been dispatched then you will have to follow our returns procedure which can be found here: RETURNS PROCEDURE.

What happens if an item is out of stock?

POW has a real time live stock feed so if you are able to order an item it should be in our warehouse. If for any reason the item is unavailable we will contact you immediately.

Can I try costumes on?

Yes. You are welcome to try on our costumes as they do not come in sealed packages, however if after trying you decide it is unsuitable it will have to be returned via our RETURNS PROCEDURE. Some products contain sealed items such as tights & wigs, please be sure you are keeping the costume before opening these items as once opened the costume is non-returnable.

How do I go about returning unwanted items?

Will my personal & payment information be secure?

Yes. Security of personal information is paramount to us and we will never trade or sell your information to third parties. We do not retain any passwords to your account and we do not hold or see any of your payment details on orders made online. If you require more detail then please visit our PRIVACY POLICY

Can I have a product delivered outside of the UK?

What happens if I receieve a faulty item?

Here at POW we pride ourselves on customer service and excellent quality control, if however an item is faulty then you are entitled to a full refund, please follow the guidelines set out in our RETURNS POLICY

What methods of payment can I use?

How long will my delivery take to arrive?

Is VAT included in the prices shown?

In short, yes! VAT is inclusive on all of our prices that are subject to VAT at the current prevailing rate.
